Human Rights Award for Bosnian Children Born of War
“I was 15 years old when I realized that I was born of hatred, not love”, says Ajna.
On 5 December 2024, the Bosnian “Forgotten Children of War Association” received the University of Oslo Human Rights Award, kicking off the Oslo Peace Days. The prize winners Ajna Jusic, Alen Muhic and Lejla Damon shared powerful stories about their upbringing as war children in Bosnia, and their fight for the rights of war children. EuroWARCHILD’s Inger Skjelsbæk gave a keynote at the ceremony before the three winners received their prizes to a standing ovation from a moved audience. Many thanks to the prize winners for their important work, and thanks to everyone who participated in this memorable evening.
